8-km traffic jam on Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu bridge highway

Thousands of vehicles have remained stuck on Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu bridge highway due to long tailbacks from early Thursday, causing immense and untold sufferings to passengers.

The highway is witnessing an 8-kilometre traffic jam from Bangabandhu Bridge to Solla.

The traffic jam has created due to repairing work of Nalka bridge in Sirajgan and closure of Paturia-Daulatdia ferry ghat. 

Officer-In-Charge (Investigation) of Bangabandhu Bridge East Thana Sahedul Islam confirmed the news.

He said vehicular movement came to a grinding halt from early Thursday, causing the long tailback.

They also said law enforcers along with the highway police are trying to bring the situation under control.
