BCL activists guard temples in Sylhet

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Sylhet unit activists guarded several temples in Sylhet last night to prevent any kind of attack.

People of all walks of life praised the step of district BCL activists.

On the other hand, Sylhet district and metropolitan BCL also brought out rallies and organized processions protesting the communal violence in various locations across the country.

Earlier, temples and houses were attacked in several districts, including in Sylhet, during the Durga Puja. Following the situation, activists of Sylhet district Chhatra League have guarded some major temples that could be targeted.

Rajat Kanti Gupta, general secretary of Sylhet Metropolitan Puja Celebration Council, said, "This initiative by Chhatra League is worthy of praise, and it is clearly needed at this time."
