Waterway communication with Hatiya suspended

All the waterway communications in Hatiya Upazila of Noakhali with rest of the country have been suspended due to inclement weather.

District meteorological official Rafiqul Islam said, the administration issued the order to suspend plying of all water transports as local Cautionary Signal No. 3 remains effective following the depression over the Bay of Bengal.

Hatiya Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Selim Hossain said, all boats and trawlers have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Khorshed Alam Khan said, waterway communications in Hatiya Upazila is suspended due to rough weather. Water vessels will start their service when the situation becomes normal.
