Iqbal taken to Cumilla

Iqbal Hossain, the man who allegedly placed the Holy Quran at the Nanua Dighir Par puja mandap in Cumilla city on October 13, was arrested in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday night.

After primary interrogation, he has been taken to Cumilla.

A microbus of DB police carrying Iqbal Hossain entered Cumilla Police Lines around 12.5pm on Friday.

Cumilla Assistant Police Super (Sadar circle) Md Sohan Sarkar confirmed the news.

DIO of Cumilla District Police Monir Ahmed said a press conference will be held in this regard this (Friday) afternoon. He is now being interrogated.
