Ferry with vehicles turns turtle at Paturia Ghat

A ferry named Amanat Shah with several vehicles has turned upside down at Ferry Ghat No. 5 of Paturia-Aricha route on Wednesday (October 27) morning.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC)’s Aricha office Manager (commerce) Md Salam Hossain confirmed the matter to risingbd.

Salam said Amanat Shah ferry sank at Ferry Ghat No. 5 of Paturia-Aricha route after taking vehicles from Daulatdia Ghat.

Upon receiving the news, the diving unit of the fire service rushed to the spot and was conducting rescue operation, he said.

There is no report of casualties so far, he added.
