‘My vehicles went under water, how I will survive’

A man named Harun Or Rashid, who lost his two covered vans after RoRo ferry Shah Amanat carrying several vehicles including his two capsized in the Padma River at the Paturia ferry terminal in Manikganj, shared a story of his helplessness.

“My vehicles have gone under water. How will I survive? My vehicles were loaded with threads of garments from Benapole. I bought two covered vans at the cost of Tk 1.4 lakh. Now I have nothing. I don’t know how I will run my family,” Harun said while talking to reporters at Ferry Ghat No 5 in Paturia on Thursday (October 28) noon.

Harun told risingbd: “I and my wife used to work in a garment factory. At that time, we saved some money. Then, taking loan from an NGO, I bought two covered vans. Now, my two vehicles are under water.”
