Councilor candidate goes missing in Gazipur

A councilor candidate of Gazipur’s Kaliakoir municipality has been reportedly missing since Thursday morning, family members claim.

Mehedi Hasan, 40, hailing from Safipur Purbapara area of Kaliakoir, is a candidate for ward number 9.

Police and family sources said, he left home to say prayer around 6:00 am and remained missing. His two mobile phone numbers were found shut.

Kaliakoir police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Manawar Hossain Chowdhury said, the victim’s family filed a general diary. The investigation is underway in this regard.

Kaliakoir municipality polls is scheduled to hold on November 28. The missing aspirant is a contesting in the polls with 'Pomegranate' symbol.
