Three more die at MMCH Covid unit

Three more people died from coronavirus and coronavirus-like symptoms at the Covid-19 unit of Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) in the past 24 hours.

Apart from that, 125 more people tested positive for the virus over the same period.

Dr Mohiuddin Khan Moon, focal person of the Covid unit, confirmed the news on Thursday (January 21).

Among the deceased, one died of coronavirus infection while the remaining two died of coronavirus-like symptoms, he added.

Meanwhile, a total of 68 patients including four at the ICU unit are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. Of them, 32 tested positive for the virus.

Besides, 18 people were newly admitted to the Covid-19 unit in the past 24 hours. Of them, six recovered.

Mymensingh district Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Nazrul Islam said, 125 people came out positive for the virus among the sample tests of 466 people which were collected through the hospital’s antigen rapid test (ART) and the PCR tests at Mymensingh Medical College in the past 24 hours.
