Two more die at MMCH Covid unit 

Two more people died from coronavirus while undergoing treatment at the Covid-19 unit of Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) on Saturday (January 22) night.

The deceased were identified as Sathi Akter, 22 and Sultana Parvin, 38 from Mymensingh sadar upazila.

Dr Mohiuddin Khan Moon, focal person of the Covid unit, confirmed the news on Sunday (January 23).

He said that a total of 68 patients including two at the ICU unit are currently undergoing treatment in the hospital. Of them, 30 tested positive for the virus. Besides, 13 people were newly admitted to the Covid-19 unit. Among them, 12 recovered.

Meanwhile, Mymensingh district Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Nazrul Islam said, 93 people came out positive for the virus among the sample tests of 282 people which were collected through the hospital’s antigen rapid test (ART) and the PCR tests at Mymensingh Medical College in the past 24 hours.
