25 injured as bus falls into pond in Tangail

25 people were injured after the driver of a passenger bus lost control over the steering and the bus later fell into a pond in Kalihati upazila of Tangail early Monday (January 24).
The incident took place on Elenga-Bhuiyapur road at Jadurpara in Kalihati upazila of the district.
The injured could not be identified immediately.
Abul Kalam, in-charge of Bhuiyapur Fire Service and Civil Defense, confirmed the matter.
The driver of a bus of Hanif Paribahan heading to Dhaka from Burimari lost its control over the steering and the bus later fell into a pond, leaving 25 passengers trapped inside the bus, Kalam said.
Members of the fire service rescued the 25 people trapped inside the bus upon receiving the information. Of them, 17 were given primary treatment while the remaining eight were admitted to Tangail General Hospital.
