Siblings among 3 children drown in Khagrachhari

Three children, including a boy and his sister, drowned in Chengi River in Panchhari upazila of Khagrachhari on Friday noon (January 28).

The deceased were known as Purna Sadhan Chakma’s children Pibir Chakma, 2 and Progga Chakma, 12, and Shawpon Chakma’s daughter Jharjhari Chakma, 12.

Sources said, the incident took place when the children went to the river to take a bath. Later, the locals recovered them and took to Upazila Health Complex.

Panchhari police station Officer-in-Charge Ancharul Karim confirmed the matter.
