Rare snake ‘red coral kukri’ rescued in Thakurgaon

A rare red coral kukri snake was rescued in Bhulli Borobalia area of Sadar upazila in Thakurgaon on Thursday night (February 10).

This was only the sixth time the snake had been detected in Bangladesh. A Red Coral Kukri was found in Bangladesh for the first time in October, last year in Panchagarh.

Joynal, the rescuer said, I noticed the snake on street in front of my home tonight. I heard about it earlier. So, instantly, I informed the administration and local reporters.

Wildlife conservationists and rescuers Sahidul Islam (BSS) said, “Locals informed us about the snake. We will rescue that tomorrow.”

Researchers said that the red-colored mild venomous snake was seen no more than 25 times in the world.
