Man gets life-term for killing wife

A Bogura court has sentenced a man to life-term imprisonment for killing his wife at Kahalu in Bogura.

Bogura Additional District Session Judge Habiba Mondal passed the order on Monday (April 11).

The convict was known as Bulu Mondal, a van driver and resident of Ulkhar village at Kahalu in Bogura.

He was fined Tk 20,000. In default, he has to suffer one year in jail.

Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) Nasimul Karim Holi said confirmed the matter.

It was learned that he strangulated his wife to death on February 6 in 2006. He later, confessed to the killing.

After announcement of the verdict, the convict Bulu Mondal was sent to jail, Nasimul said.
