Couple die from electrocution, daughter injured

A couple died from electrocution and their daughter sustained injuries at Dumuria upazila in Khulna on Wednesday (May 18).

The incident took place at Kulti village of the upazila at the noon.

Dumuria Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Sheikh Koni Mia confirmed the matter.

The deceased were known as Avijit Biswas, 28, his wife Sundori Biswas, 23. The couple’s injure daughter was known as Orna.

It was learned that Sundori and his husband Avijit went to kitchen for taking meals when she came in contact with electricity. She touched the tin of kitchen house as it came in contact with electric wire. Being informed, locals rushed the spot and switched off the power. They rescued them and immediately took to Khulna Medical College hospital where they were declared dead.
