14.5 kg gold recovered in Jashore

Customs Intelligence officials seized 14.45kgs of gold worth around Tk 10.11 crore and detained a person at Kabilpur border area of Chaugachha in Jashore on Friday (May 20).

The detainee is known as Shah Alam, son of Abdur Rahim.

Jashore BGB-49 Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Shahed Minhaz Siddique confirmed the matter.

He said that acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB-49 conducted the drive and detained the person with 124 gold bars.

Meanwhile, a motorcycle and mobile phone were seized from his possession, he added.
