Bodies of mother, her 2 children recovered in Narsingdi

Police have recovered the bodies of a woman and her two children from their house in Belabo upazila of Narsingdi on Sunday (May 22) morning.

The incident took place at Babla village in Patuli union of the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Rahima Begum, 36, wife of Gias Uddin Sheikh and her son Rabbi Sheikh, 12, and daughter Rakira Sheikh, 7.

Belabo police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Safayet Hossain Palash confirmed the news.

The reason behind the killings could not be known immediately, he said.

According to the locals, a woman went to Rahima Begum’s house at around 8:00am and saw the blood through the bottom of the door. Seeing the blood, she started shouting. Hearing her shout, neighbours rushed to the spot and broke open the door and found three bodies on the floor.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. Later, the bodies were sent to Narsingdi Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.
