Teacher murder: Key accused Jitu arrested

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested the key accused Ashraful Islam Jitu, 16, who killed college teacher Utpal Kumar Sarker with a cricket stump in Ashulia, Savar.

Commander Khandaker Al Moin, Director of RAB Legal and Media wing, confirmed the matter to risingbd.

RAB-1 Porabari Camp Commander Major Muhidul Islam said, the accused was arrested from Nagarhawla village in Gazipur. Details will be disclosed later through press conference.

Earlier, a court in Dhaka placed the prime accused Ashraful Islam’s father Uzzal Hossain on five days remand in the case.
