Onion prices start to drop

Prices of onions have started to come down in Hili land port in Dinajpur.

The prices decreased by Tk 3-4 per kg on Thursday from the previous day, said traders.

Visiting several kitchen markets of Hili land port in the district on Thursday, this correspondent found that imported onions were selling Tk 32 per kg in the wholesale market.

Rakibul Islam, a local buyer said, the prices of onions have started to come down. I had bought onion at Tk42 per kg two days ago. But today the rate is Tk35 from retail market.

Ferdous Rahman, a wholesale trader at Hili said, the prices decreased vastly due to the announcement of onion import from India.
