Woman raped in running bus

A group of robbers raped a female passenger after looting a bus in Tangail on Tuesday night.

The incident took place at a highway.

Madhupur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Mazharul Amin confirmed the matter.

A bus of Eagle Paribahan carrying around 24/25 passengers was going to Dhaka from Kushtia.  A group of robbers boarded the bus when it made a stopover at a hotel in Sirajganj.

After crossing the Bangabandhu Bridge, the robbers assaulted the passengers and took away the mobile phones and cash from them.  They also raped a woman on the bus, he said.

A passenger of the bus filed a case in this regard. The victim has been admitted to Upazila Health Complex, and she will be sent to Tangail General Hospital.
