Two Rohingya leaders shot dead in Cox’s Bazar

Two Rohingya leaders have been shot dead at a camp in Ukhiya of Cox's Bazar.

The incident took place at around 11:45pm on Tuesday (9 August) at C-9 Block of Camp 15.

The deceased have been identified as Abu Taleb, 40, and Syed Hossain, 35.

Armed Police Battalion (APBn) Additional Superintendent of Police (Media) Kamran Hossain confirmed the news.

“Miscreants shot them over the previous enmity. They were immediately taken to Jamtoli MSF Hospital where Syed Hossain was declared dead.  Abu Taleb was sent to Kutupalong Hospital for better treatment as his condition was critical and he died there”, he said.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ukhiya Thana Sheikh Mohammad Ali said the dead bodies have been sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
