Fishing boat capsizes in Meghna, 3 rescued

A fishing boat along with two fishermen and an eight-year-old child capsized in the river Meghna in Hizla upazila of Barisal after being caught in strong current and air on Wednesday (August 10) afternoon.

On information, Naval police rushed to the spot and rescued the trio alive at night.

Those rescued are Sagor Mir, 40 and Nagor Mir, 38, sons of Rahim Mir and eight-year-old child Sakib, son of Sagor Mir.

Hizla Naval Police Outpost In-charge Inspector Vikas Chandra Dey confirmed the incident.
