Rohingya youth confesses to killing 4 Majhi

A Rohingya youth has made confessional statement regarding the murder of four Ukhiya camp leaders (locally called Majhi) in a video circulating on social networking site.

In the video, Md Hasim, 21, was seen describing the details of the killing. He said, an Islamic organization named ‘Mahaz’ provided arms to 25 youths.

The youth, son of Abdur jabbar, hailed from Ukhiya camp number 18, block-H/53, also said, “We were given 25 pistols to success the killing mission. After the killings, we were paid a huge amount.”

We have killed three Majhi and a volunteer. They are – the head Majhi of Camp 18 Azim Uddin, Sanaullah, Jafar and Ismail of camp 17, he added.

Rohingya camp in-charge, additional superintendent of police (ASP) of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn), Farooq Ahmed said, "Action will be taken against those whose names have been mentioned by this youth in the video, subject to investigation."
