Durbar Tarunno,’ a major social and voluntary organisation of Bangladesh, has launched a tree plantation programme in the CRB area of the port city Chattogram.

Under its ‘Amra Mali’ (we are gardeners) project, over 100 saplings were planted on Tuesday afternoon.

Keeping the theme, ‘Amar Jatne Amar Gachh’ (my tree under my care), a programme was organized.

Presided over by Muhammad Abu Abid, the founder of ‘Durbar Tarunno,’ the event was graced by Helal Akbar Chowdhury Babar, the innovator of the country’s lone corona prevention booth, as the chief guest.

He said trees are oxygen factories. There is no alternative to tree plantation for protecting the environment. As per experts, a country should have forest in its 25 percent area but we have only 7.7 percent.

For the sake of the country’s economy and financial comfort in public life, each of us should plant at least two saplings every year and take their proper care. ‘Durbar Tarunno’ project founder Muhammad Abu Abid, Rabiul Hasan, Hridoy Hossain Mollik, Md Quamrul Islam, H M Alauddin, Md Emdadul Huq Maruf, H A Mobarak, Hakimul Islam Sakib, Safayet Morshed and Mobarak Ullah were also present at the event.
