Jubo League leader shot dead in Lakshmipur

A local leader of Jubo League was shot dead allegedly by some miscreants in Sadar upazila of Lakshmipur district on Friday (September 30) night.

The deceased was identified as Alauddin Patwari, 40, vice-president of Bashikpur union unit of the Jubo League and son of Sadek Patwari.

According to police and relatives of the deceased, Alauddin came under attack by some miscreants while he was talking on the mobile phone in the Poddar Dighirpar area of Bashikpur around 10pm.

While escaping, the miscreants fired at Alauddin, leaving him critically injured. Later, he was taken to Sadar Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctors declared him dead.

Police suspect he was killed following previous enmity or establishing supremacy in the area.

Md Mahfuzzaman Ashraf, Superintendent of Police of Lakshmipur, confirmed the incident.
