Rohingya youth killed in mine blast at Tambru border

A Rohingya youth was killed in a landmine explosion along the international border with Myanmar at Tambru of Naikhyangchari in Bandarban Sunday (October 2) morning.
The Rohingya, Omar Faruk, 17, son of Md Ayub. He was a resident of Konarpara ‘no man’s land’ Rohingya camp.
Seeking anonymity, a member of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) tasked with the border said, “I heard from the detectives that a Rohingya youth was killed in a landmine explosion along the international border with Myanmar at Tambru and the youth was a resident of Konarpara Rohingya camp on zero point.”
When asked about the incident, Bandarban Superintendent of Police (SP) Tariqul Islam Tariq said, “I am not aware of the landmine explosion. Details can be briefed after looking into the matter.”
