Kidnapped girl rescued after 16 days, 3 arrested

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) rescued a girl (15) from Hathazari Upazila of Chattogram after 16 days she was kidnapped. At that time, a kidnapper and his parents were arrested.

RAB revealed the matter in a press release on Wednesday (October 5) at noon.

Earlier, the girl was rescued from Patenga in Chattogram City on Tuesday night.

The arrestees were known as kidnapper Md Modassir (23), his father Rezaul Karim and mother Sabiha Sultana.

Senior Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-7 Nurul Absar said Modassir abducted the ninth grade girl from Hathazari area on September 19. The victim’s mother filed a case under the Women and Child Repression Prevention Act at Hathajari Police Station on September 23. Later, on a tip-off a drive was conducted and arrested abductor Modassir and his parents from Patenga.

Meanwhile, the victim was rescued from their possession.
