Indefinite transport strike begins in Rajshahi from Thursday

An indefinite transport strike is set to begin in Rajshahi from Thursday (December 1).
Transport owners said they will keep out of operation all kinds of transport services, including both passenger and goods vehicles, to and from all districts of Rajshahi division for an indefinite period from December 1, ahead of the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s next divisional mass rally in the divisional city to be held on December 7.
BNP holding mass rallies in various divisional cities of the country. Some rallies have already been held each of which saw a transport strike. An indefinite transport strike is going to start two days before the mass rally in Rajshahi. For this, BNP leaders and activists have already started flocking to Rajshahi.
BNP’s Rajshahi Divisional Organizing Secretary Ruhul Quddus Talukdar Dulu said, “Wherever BNP is holding rally, there is a transport strike. The government is doing a ridiculous drama. People are laughing at this. Is it increasing the government’s popularity? I think this transport strike shows how much this government is afraid of BNP.
