Throat-slit body found in Gaibandha

Police recovered the throat-slit body of an elderly man from South Shahapara area of Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha district on Saturday (January 28).

The deceased was identified as Surat Ali Pramanik, 55, son of late Khaybar Ali of Kamarpara union of the upazila.

Quoting the victim’s family members, Sub-Inspector (investigation) Enayet Kabir of Sadullapur Police Station, said Surat Ali left home for Sadullapur Bazar around 5pm on Friday but did not return that night.

Locals found his throat-slit body beside a road in South Shahapara area and informed the family members.

Police have launched an investigation to unearth the mystery behind his killing, the SI said.
