Prisoner dies at Narayanganj jail

A prisoner died of cardiac arrest at the Narayanganj district jail on Saturday (January 28).

The deceased identified as Shakil Ahmed, 36, son of Saiful Islam, hailed from Pabna district.

According to jail authorities, he felt pain in his chest Friday night. He was taken hospital instantly and returned to jail after treatment. But he became sick again this morning and was sent to the hospital where he died under treatment.

Jail super Md Mokammel Hossain confirmed the matter.

Fatullah Model police station Inspector (probe) Mohsin said locals caught the person and beat him on charge of robbery on January 24. Later, on information, police rescued him and produced him before the court after treatment.
