Exam sheets scam: ACC summons estimate of accused wealth

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started identifying those responsible for forgery of higher mathematics answer sheets of 18 HSC candidates of 2019 and estimate of their assets.

As a part of this, personal documents of 8 officers and employees of Barisal Education Board and assets of their family members have been summoned.

The individuals who were asked to submit documents are: Jashore Education Board examination controller Arun Kumar Gain, section officer Shahidul Islam, former assistant examination controller A K Azad Faruk, upper division assistant Sujata Swarnakar, dismissed office assistant Govinda Chandra Pal and Monirul Islam. Besides, day labourer (sacked) Nitai and Shankar.

A letter was issued from Barisal ACC coordination district office on July 26. They were asked to submit all documents by August 20.

Zulfiqar Ali, director of Barisal divisional office of ACC, said the investigation is going on from Barisal division office.

He, however, could not tell over issuing any letter asking documents of estimate of wealth.

However, a top official claiming anonymity said the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is conducting probe over the main allegation. A case was filed with airport police station against 19 people including 18 students on August 26, 2019. Now CID is investigating into the case.
