Edu minister-journo meeting: What to be discussed

All educational institutions have remained closed from March 18 last in a bid to contain the spread of coronavirus. PEC and JSC examinations have been cancelled. HSC examinations have been postponed.
Under this situation, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni is going to hold a view exchange meeting with journalists virtually at 12 pm on Wednesday (Sept 30). Speculations are going on over the online meeting in different quarters.
According to the ministry sources, the education ministry will discuss everything relating to education in the scheduled virtual meeting. During the meeting, she will answer questions raised by journalists.
Of the questions raised, several issues will get priority. The issues which will get priority include the possible time for the reopening of educational institutions, annual exams of students, auto pass, auto promotion, SSC examinations, decision over the admission process from XI to XII, online class, MPO policy, recruitment of non-government teachers and HSC exams.
Besides, the education ministry will also discuss various contemporary issues in the field of education including MC college in Sylhet.
When asked, MA Khayer, Information and Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Education, said, “The education minister will hold a view exchange meeting with journalists regarding overall issues of education. Different current issues will also be discussed in the virtual meeting.”
