O Level and A Level examinations began on Thursday and will continue till November 23.
The Ministry of Education has placed four conditions for the British Council to hold the examinations.
One of the conditions says that no more than 1,800 students should be allowed to sit a test in a day at the 35 centres across the country under the British Council. Another condition is that the distance between two students should be 600 feet.
The Education Ministry further said it had the right to cancel the exams anytime if the situation demanded such action.
Earlier, the ministry accepted the application to hold the exams, placed by the British Council, the UK’s international organization for educational opportunities.
The High Court also rejected a writ petition seeking cancellation of the examinations.
