Guardians demonstrate at Rupnagar against taking tuition fees

Guardians have demonstrated at Rupnagar in the city against taking tuition fees during corona pandemic.
The guardians alleged that Monipur School in city’s Mirpur area is taking tuition fees.
The guardians took position on the road after 12.00pm on Saturday (October 24). This caused severe traffic jams in the area. Additional policemen have been deployed to avoid any untoward situation.
Rupnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Kalam Azad told risingbd that parents had blocked the road in protest against taking tuition fees during corona pandemic. An initiative has been taken to resolve the issue through a discussion between parents and school representatives, he also said.
Parents alleged that even though the school was closed during the coronation pandemic, but tuition fees are being taken. Online classes are not being taken regularly, but they have been collecting tuition fees. It is inhumane.
