JS passes Bangladesh Madrasah Education Bill-2020

The Jatiya Sangsad on Thursday passed the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Bill-2020 to replace an ordinance of 1978.

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni moved the bill in the House which was unanimously passed by voice votes with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

While placing the bill, the minister said the enactment of the proposed law will play an important role in the development of the Madrasha education.

Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board Bill-2020 was placed in the parliament on November 8, this year.

According to the Article 28 of the proposed law, there will be (legal) protection of the activities the madrasah education has so far done since 1978.
