‘Holiday to be extended if corona situation does not improve’

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that holiday of all educational institutions will be extended after January 15 if the coronavirus situation does not improve.

The Prime Minister said this while inaugurating the new book distribution programme on Thursday morning.

The Prime Minister formally inaugurated the distribution of books around 9.30am through a virtual event from her official residence

Ganobhaban.

The Prime Minister said, “When we decided to open schools then the second wave of coronavirus came. Educational institutions are closed till January 15. If the situation improves the schools and colleges will be opened”.

Sheikh Hasina said, "No nation can prosper without education. That is why we have given emphasis on education. We have been distributing books for free since 2010”.
