Draft ordinance on HSC results to be placed in cabinet meeting

A draft ordinance on releasing of HSC and equivalent examination results will be placed in the cabinet meeting on Monday (January 11). 

A responsible source in the Ministry of Education said this on Saturday (January 09).

According to the source, later the will be sent to the law ministry for verification. Then, it be submitted to the President for approval.

The source said the ordinance will be officially issued after approval from the President.

When asked, an official of the Ministry of Education said that after the issuance of the ordinance, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will announce the results herself. The education ministry is trying to get her consent by next week. The ministry is preparing to announce the results next week, the official said.

Professor Nehal Ahmed, chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and member secretary of the results preparation committee, said, “They are ready to submit the results to the education ministry. After the ordinance is passed, only a meeting of the technical committee is to be held.”

Earlier on Thursday (January 07), Mahbub Hossain, secretary of the education ministry’s secondary and higher education department, said an ordinance must be issued to publish results in special circumstances. The ordinance could not be issued as there was no cabinet meeting this week. If the ordinance is approved, the results will be released by mid-January.
