Private univ’ teachers, students getting coronavirus vaccine

After public universities, this time the government has taken a decision to provide coronavirus vaccine to the teachers and students of the country’s private universities.

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) of the Ministry of Education issued instructions in this regard on Monday (March 01).

According to DSHE website, the government has decided to vaccinate teachers, students and staff of private universities for the coronavirus. Teachers and employees who are 40 years of age or above, must register at www.Surokkha.gov.bd. The list of them who are below 40 years of age and students should be sent to the Director General of the Directorate General of Health Service (DGHS) in selected table.

The Ministry of Education has created two separate tables for teachers, officers, staff and students. University, post, number of national identity card, date of birth, name of district and upazila should be written in the tables. In case of students, name and class should be mentioned in place of post.

Welcoming the government’s decision, North South University Vice-Chancellor Professor Atiqul Islam said, “It is definitely a very good decision. It will inspire students to attend the class.”
