DU’s postponed exams to resume from June 15

The Dhaka University (DU) authorities have decided to start taking in-person final examinations of various departments from June 15.

If the coronavirus situation worsens, then the exams will be taken online except the practical tests.

The decision was taken at a virtual meeting of the Academic Council on Tuesday (June 01) with DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Akhtaruzzaman in the chair.

In the meeting, a decision has also been taken to formulate a recovery plan in order to mitigate academic losses and session jam.

The VC said all postponed examinations at the honours and master’s level will be taken in person from June 15, adding that residential halls would open, and classes resume after students are vaccinated.

“Residential halls will not be open when the exams are held, and the departments and institutes concerned will contact the students about taking the exams,” he further said.

The exam will be held following proper health guidelines, he said.

Semester finals, annual course finals, and practical examinations will all be held on a priority basis from July 1.
