Educational institutions were reopened on Sunday (September 12) after 17 months of confinement at home due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

But, on the first day, the attendance of students was fewer at the primary level. The long-term closure of all the educational institutions would be the reason behind it.

Besides, students got promotions from one class to next class. There was a lack of coordination in this regard.

Decorate of Primary Education (DPE) Director-General Alamgir Muhammad Mansurul Alam said, we had visited various schools on the first day. Everyone looked so happy. But, the number of attendees was fewer.

If the teachers and guardians become aware then the number of attendees will increase. The process to increase the number of more classes to be started soon, he added.
