‘Educational institutions may be shut if situation worsens’

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni again hinted the closure of educational institutions across the country if situation deteriorated due to the new variant of coronavirus called Omicron.

“We will take a decision to shut educational institutions again if situation deteriorated due to the new variant of coronavirus called Omicron although we had no such plans at this moment. We want to keep the educational institutions operational in a continuous process,” she said while visiting Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College in Dhaka on Thursday (December 2).

The education minister said, “We hope educational institutions need not to be closed. We are monitoring the situation and holding a discussion with our technical committee.”
