43rd BCS written test begins Sunday

The written examination of 43rd BCS compulsory subjects is set to commence from next Sunday (July 24) and will continue till July 31.

The examination will be held simultaneously in Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet, Rangpur and Mymensingh centres.

A notification signed by Ishrat Sharmin, Public Relations Officer of Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC), has been issued in this regard on Thursday (July 21).

This time, a total of 15,229 candidates are participating in the written examination scheduled to begin at 10 am.

Books, bags, wallets, watches, mobile phones, calculators or electronic communication devices etc. are strictly prohibited in the examination hall. Candidates are not allowed to use any jewelry and carry credit card/ bank card or any such items in the examination hall.

As many as 4,42,832 job seekers applied to attend the BCS preliminary test last year. The preliminary examination of 43rd BCS was held on October 29 last year at 369 centres in eight divisions—Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet, Rangpur and Mymensingh.  

A total of 15,229 candidates passed the 43rd BCS preliminary examinations. On November 30, 2020, the commission published the circular for the 43rd BCS preliminary examinations to appoint 1,814 government officials in different posts.

These include 550 posts in the general cadre, 310 in the technical cadre, 843 in the education cadre, 12 in the teachers’ training college, and 99 in the technical education cadre.
