Two-day weekly holiday for educational institutions

The government has declared two-day weekly holiday for the country’s all educational institutions.
The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting held with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair on Monday. The Prime Minister attended the meeting virtually from Ganobhaban.
Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam announced the decision during a press briefing after the meeting at the Secretariat.
He said that the Ministry of Education will soon issue a notice in this regard.
He also said office time at government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions has been fixed from 8 am to 3 pm from in a bid to save the electricity. Banks across the country will remain open from 9am to 4pm daily to save energy.
