Decision to launch scholarship exams again in primary

A decision has been taken to launch the scholarship examination for the students of class-5 of primary. Although the scholarship is given on the basis of primary education completion, the exams will be conducted separately this year. It has been decided to launch the exam again after almost 12 years.

According to the sources of the Directorate of Primary Education, the decision was taken that the primary scholarship will continue as per the current rules and procedures. This scholarship exam should be taken in the last week of December this year.

The preliminary scholarship examination will be held at each upazila headquarter.

The directorate has instructed the district primary education officers to inform the number of students and centers studying in the class-5 in order to carry out the scholarship program smoothly.

The District Primary Education Officers have been directed to send the information of students studying in class V in all types of primary schools and examination centers by December 6.

Earlier, on November 28, an inter-ministerial meeting on alternative merit verification method for awarding merit scholarship at the end of primary education was decided.

To prevent dropouts, develop talent, the government introduced primary completion in 2009 and the next year Ibtedaye education completion. Scholarships were awarded based on these two exams.

Scholarships will be given on the basis of the scholarship examination once the exams begin. It was decided in the meeting of the ministry that 10 percent students of the school will be able to participate in this examination.
