Soumitra Chatterjee in critical condition

Veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee’s physical condition is very critical and he is likely to be put on ventilation.

The Feluda actor is at an ‘acute confusional stage,’ and showing signs of disorientation after being administered a few units of plasma, according to his physicians on Monday.

Three-time National Film Award winning actor Soumitra Chatterjee was hospitalized on October 6 after testing positive for Covid-19.

The 85-year-old actor was shifted to intensive care on October 10 in a private hospital after his health condition had significantly worsened.
Back in October 6, Soumitra's daughter Poulami Bose informed the media that her father’s condition was stable. "The only symptom that he had was fever. He had a low-grade temperature for two days. We admitted him to a private hospital today after his positive report a day earlier. Right now, his temperature is normal.”

However, his condition has now become a cause of major concern because of several age-related ailments.

Soumitra Chatterjee, best known for his acclaimed collaborations with filmmaker Satyajit Ray, is one of the finest living actors of Bangla cinema.
Soumitra, who made his acting debut in Satyajit's Apur Sansar, is the first actor to play Feluda on screen. The legendary star has notable films like Charulata, Devi, Akash Kusum, Ghare Baire, Ganashatru, Joy Baba Felunath and others under his belt.
