Aly Zaker to be buried at Banani graveyard

Ekushey Padak recipient Aly Zaker will be laid to rest at Banani graveyard in the capital on Friday afternoon.

His Namaz-e-Janaza will be held at the Banani graveyard mosque after Asr prayers abiding by health guidelines. Later, she will be laid to rest at her mother’s grave, family sources said.

His body was taken to Liberation War Museum around 11.00am. Later, the body was taken to Asiatic office.

Aly Zaker, a member of the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra, passed away on Friday morning at a hospital at the age of 76.

He was admitted to the hospital some days ago and was undergoing treatment at the CCU. 

Aly Zaker was diagnosed with cancer four years ago.  He was also suffering from different old age complications.

He is equally popular in television and stage dramas. At the same time, he was a leading figure in the domestic advertising industry.

Aly Jaker was also the head of Asiatic 360, an advertising agency in Bangladesh. His wife Sara Jaker is also an actress.

In 1999, the Bangladesh government awarded him with the Ekushey Padak, the country’s second-highest civilian honor, for his contribution to the arts.
