Indian actress Kangana Ranaut is facing 'intellectual theft' allegations after author Ashish Kaul has claimed that the Kangana 'stole' his story for her upcoming film Manikarnika Returns: The Legend Of Didda.

Kangana's upcoming film Manikarnika Returns: The Legend Of Didda is said to be bigger and mounted on an international scale as the team intends to make a world-class franchise of real life women heroes.

Kangana announced the film on January 14 and was called out by Ashish soon after the news went viral. While speaking to a webloid, Ashish has claimed that he had approached Kangana to write the foreword of the Hindi version of his book Didda: The Warrior Queen of Kashmir.

He has also claimed that he is the sole copyright owner of the biography, and added, "Kangana has stolen my story. She has such an image in society, who lives with the truth, supports the truth, but here Kangana has stolen my story. I would call it an intellectual theft."

Ashish has also said that Kangana has not responded to his mail written in September 2020 but suddenly she announced the film which he thinks is based on his literary work.
