Covid-19: Farida Parveen hospitalized

Ekushey Padak-winning singer Farida Parveen was hospitalized in critical condition after suffering from Coronavirus infection.
She was taken to capital’s Universal Medical College Hospital on Monday (April 12).
Confirming the matter, Farida Parveen’s son Imam Jafar Nomani said, “After getting computerized tomography (CT) scan, we came to know that her 50 percent lung is damaged.
Farida Parveen's songs have earned much appreciation from audiences both at home and abroad.
Born on December 31, 1954 in Shaol village of Singra Police Station in Natore, she started training in folk music under the instruction of Mokshed Ali Shah.
The singer, who was brought up in Kushtia, started out with Nazrul Sangeet in 1986 as a listed artiste of Rajshahi Betar. She won Ekushey Padak in 1987 for her outstanding contribution to the arena of music.
