Mahbubul Khalid`s Father`s Day song pays homage to dads

Father’s Day is being celebrated today (June 20) across the world. The celebration recognizes the unique role a father or a father figure plays in our lives. On this day, people thank fathers and father figures for the scarifies they make, for embracing the responsibility of nurturing and raising children, and for devotion to their family.

The date for Father's Day changes from year-to-year. The third Sunday in the month of June is specially celebrated as Father’s Day every year. This year, it falls on June 20.

The first Father’s Day was observed on July 5, 1908, in West Virginia for the fathers who lost their lives in a mining accident in Monongah, USA. Later, the Father’s Day idea was brought by Sonora Smart Dodd, the daughter of American Civil War veteran William Jackson Smart. Usually, this day varies from country to country. It didn’t gain popularity until President Richard Nixon signed a declaration to celebrate every third Sunday of June as Father’s Day.

At present time, the celebrations of Father's Day got popularity mainly for social media and internet. The day is celebrated to acknowledge the dedication and contribution of fathers to their children's lives.

Noted Bangladeshi poet, lyricist and composer Mahbubul Khalid, who is known for his music on different issues like international days or observance, social awareness, humanity etc. has penned a very touchy song to show respect to all fathers on the occasion of Father's Day.

The title of the song is 'Baba Amar Baba' (Daddy my Daddy). Young composer Roman Rahman tuned the song while Sangeeta rendered her voice.

A music video of the song has been released on YouTube's Khalid Sangeet channel. The song is also available on lyricist's musical website www.khalidsangeet.com.

Apart from this song, Mahbubul Khalid penned and tuned a vast number of songs on different days and observance including Mother's Day. He also wrote songs on various issues including indigenous people, refugees, different social and religious festivals like Eid, Quarbani, Christmas, Durgapurja, Buddha, Krishna, English New Year, Bengali New Year etc. His songs make people aware of smoking, eve teasing, autism, AIDS, adulterated foods etc. His songs deals with the themes of nature, patriotism, perception, philosophy, religions, humanity, romanticism, spiritual love, tragedy, public awareness, amity, sports etc.

Mahbubul Khalid recently wrote a song to create awareness on Corona pandemic. He also composed music of the song titled Corona Ke Voy Koro Na (Don't Get Panicked of Coronavirus). The song has also released on YouTube and khalidsangeet.com and received huge popularity.
