Father’s Day is being celebrated today (June 19) across the world. On this day, people thank fathers and father figures for the scarifies they make, for embracing the responsibility of nurturing and raising children, and for devotion to their family.

Fathers are an eternal part of our lives. Their love, care and sacrifices can never be compared with anyone. They are indeed the true heroes of our lives.

The date for Father's Day changes from year-to-year. The third Sunday in the month of June is specially celebrated as Father’s Day every year. This year, it falls on June 19.

The first Father’s Day was observed on July 5, 1908, in West Virginia for the fathers who lost their lives in a mining accident in Monongah, USA. Later, the Father’s Day idea was brought by Sonora Smart Dodd, the daughter of American Civil War veteran William Jackson Smart. Usually, this day varies from country to country. It didn’t gain popularity until President Richard Nixon signed a declaration to celebrate every third Sunday of June as Father’s Day.

At present time, the celebrations of Father's Day got popularity mainly for social media and internet. The day is celebrated to acknowledge the dedication and contribution of fathers to their children's lives.

Fathers play an irreplaceable role in the lives of their kids. Fathers, like mothers, are pillars in the development of a child's emotional well-being. Children look to their fathers to lay down the rules and enforce them. They also look to their fathers to provide a feeling of security, both physical and emotional. In order to honor fatherhood and paternal bonds, as well as the influence of fathers in society, the Father's Day is celebrated every year on third Sunday of June.

Noted Bangladeshi poet, lyricist and composer Mahbubul Khalid has penned a very touchy song to show respect to all fathers on the occasion of Father's Day and highlights the contributions of dads.

Young composer Roman Rahman tuned the song titled 'Baba Amar Baba' (Daddy my Daddy) while Sangeeta rendered her voice.

A music video of the song is available on YouTube's Khalid Sangeet channel while the audio and details on lyricist's musical website www.khalidsangeet.com.
