Pop singer jailed for 13 years for sex crimes

Kris Wu, a Canadian-Chinese singer, has received 13 years in prison after being found guilty of sex crimes.

A court in Beijing convicted the 32-year-old singer and actor of raping three women and assembling a crowd to engage in an orgy.

He was arrested last year after being accused of date-rape by a student, before 24 more victims spoke out.

He will also be deported after serving his sentence in China.

The outlet added that authorities determined after Wu's trial that from November 2020 to the following December, he “took advantage" of "three drunken women who did not know how to resist or could not resist, and forcibly had sex with them in his residence.”
